Hi everyone!
I have a tank that's been running for a few months now and it has two ottos in it and a 'sucker fish' but not sure the breed of it. It's not a bushy nose or anything like that and it has not grown at all, while my ottos have. I was wondering what sort of fish I could stock in this tank? My father has always been the tank guy and now I'm on my own. And in reality, his tanks are crowded and over stocked. His girlfriend has a 75gal and there are tons of fish in there including two large gouramis and an angel. They are attacking each other like crazy. So.. I wanted to come somewhere for advice that won't lead me the wrong way. I did try to dwarf gouramis but I returned them because they were fighting non-stop. |

Male Dwarf Gouramis will fight each other until one or the other is dead, IME. One by himself will do great in a 29 if you like those. I have had a blue one in my 29 for over a year now.
A lot of different ways you could go. I prefer to error on the side of caution and be moderate in stocking for small tanks and wouldn't go with more than 14-15 fish total. That would be with smaller fish also. I would probably get 4-5 Albino Cories (doesn't have to be albino, but should be one of the ones that stay somewhat small) and 8-10 Cardinal Tetras. Along with a Dwarf Gourami. Whichever way you choose, add no more than 2 a week to let your bio-filter keep up. |
