Combining a peaceful community
Hi all Until a few weeks ago I had a 197ltr aquarium with different species however at one point they started to attack eachother and most of them got eaten. These are the species: Prey - the ones that perished: guppys, neons, koi swordtails, lemon tetras. Predators - the ones that survived: yoyo loach, 2x siamese algae eaters, 2x black tetras, 1 med-sized angelfish, black goldfish The tank has some Cyrptocorine plants as well. Are there species which I could put with the rest ie: the predators? Thanks Ramon |

For one thing the goldfish needs to go,hes a cold water fish and the temp cannot be a happy medium between him and the other fishes.Tetras need a school of at the very least seven.Yoyo loaches I think need to be in a group as well.Angelfish get territorial when they grow,so he very well could have been the one doing the killing.Or,it could be water quality that did them in and if that is the case, more will follow suit.
Is your tank cycled? What type of filter are you using, and how often do you do water changes? What is the parameters? As it stands you have fish out of their norm and they will not act right out of fear.Schooling fish feel secure when there are more of them, and some will flee and hide out of fear, and some will do a last hurrah so to speak, where they show extreme aggression. So you should make sure the water is good,up the schools and move the goldfish. Then focus on that angel fish,as he may get territorial and can be quite mean little buggers.
