Default Choice of fish

My sons tank is a 20 gallon and mine is a 46 bowfront. I tested my tap water and it came out at:
ph: 8.0-8.2
ammonia: 0.50
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 0

I'm guessing that I don't need to add anything except the declorinator. My sone will have a catfish or to for algie 2 female swords and 1 male. the rest will be guppies.

Mine will probably be 0ne male and 2 female electric yellow cichlids and the rest whatever?

That should both be good with that ph, right?

Just remember some of those algae eatters get HuGE (like 2ft long)! And you have to feed them specific food also. Read up on them and find the best type for ur tank size! Guppies are pretty but can reproduce like crazy if u mix males and females! Yes to dechlorinating but you will still need to let ur tank run for a few weeks to get it cycled (allow benificial bacteria to grow) b4 adding any fish.
