Will different tyeps of goldfish breed? I dont want fry just yet and if they do breed what do I feed the fry and how much?

I had a red cap oranda an orange ryukin, which i mistakenly called beavis and butthead...

I had about 4-500 frys, unfortunately the racoon were having them as food in the outdoor pond...

I ran out of places to put them, i had tanks, buckets. I end up giving most of them away, some were born deformed, etc...

Goldfish are like dogs, there are many breeds but only one species so they should all be able to breed with each other. Koi carp are in the same family but are a different species so don't cross with goldfish.

Untrue! Goldfish can hybridize with carp and koi. I've seen a few that were pretty darn cute.

ETA: It's like wolves and dogs. They can hybridize because they belong to the same genus, Canis. Goldfish, koi, and carp all belong to the genus Carassius.

Dogs and wolves are the same species (in scientific terms domesticates dogs are a subspecies of the same species), so wolves are just a wild form of dog. While koi and goldfish are both in the carp (Cyprinidae) family they are not the same species. Crossing a koi and a goldfish would be like a dog and fox cross, something that there are rumors of, but no scientific proof, so it is generally considered impossible.

Domestic goldfish and wild goldfish are both Carassius auratus and can readily interbreed. Koi carp are Cyprinus carpio carpio and not closely related so it is probably impossible for them to breed together naturally. As both are in the carp family perhaps it can be done under lab conditions with human intervention but the offspring would likely be sterile. When people claim their goldfish and koi have crossed it is more likely that they are seeing the offspring of their goldfish reverting to wild traits.

It is a subject that interested me and after doing some research this is what I understood but I'm not an expert, if anyone has more in-depth info I'd be interested.

There has been some recent debate about the exact origins of domestic goldfish, here I have used older information for the purpose, so as not to cause confusion, as there may still be changes made in species names etc.
