Hi everyone,
This is my precious son, Brian. He means everything to me. A few weeks ago I noticed this dark shadow on his wen. It looks like a little dark lump underneath the surface rather then a wound or injury. He had the white fungus on his when about a month or two ago which MAY have been in that spot but it is hard to remember but it cleared up with pimafix. He also had a "red back fin" a few weeks ago but cleared overnight with some tablets but i continued them for a few days to be safe. Please help, this is my baby! I keep the water clean, have nitrate, ph, ammonia testers, a consistant temperature, ECT. He is also the only fish in the tank. PLEAE ANY HELP! THANK YOU SO MUCH! http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...w/IMG_3004.jpg http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...w/IMG_3001.jpg http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...w/IMG_2996.jpg Here is more pics in the album: Pictures by theacw - Photobucket |

The pictures, from what I see, is nothing to worry about but I do need the other information. How offten do you do water changes? What size tank and what do you have for filters?

Thanks for the help!
Well since I posted this, another forum helped me to getting my tank's levels from eh to good. Everything was perfect except my ammonia was between .25 and .5. I then started doing a lot of water changes and it didn't help and realized my tap water was .5 ammonia! So I've been adding both Prime and Stability and things have gotten better. But he doesn't look any different. His behavior is great, about a week ago and beyond he was ok too but in the morning he would be at the bottom of his tank just resting and not breathing heavy but I assumed he was just sleeping/resting. But this past week, he's been awake all the time so maybe he is getting better or it's a coincidence. The dark spot is like a dark round mass inside he wen right behind and above his eye. The surface of the mass kind of reaches the surface and it kinda looks like a sore. Reddish when tank lights are on, white when it's off. I've taken more pictures since that look more like what I see when I look. Here they are: ![]() ![]() ![]() The other forum was helpful of me getting my tank in control but they didn't know what it was. Hopefully someone here will recognize it! Meds I have: metromeds, melafix, maracyn 1/2 I haven't tried any of them since I don't know what it is but I did dab a little diluted HP on the sore a few days ago. Any help would be so great! thank you! |

With your ammonia levels that high it may have been an ammonia burn. If you keep your levels good it should heal itself. Has there been any change?
