Went back today to the fish store to see if they had any more live plants for my 29 gallon. I looked in the goldfish tank and saw the same little dead fish stuck to the filter (from yesterday) and, now, two more alive goldies. I asked the women if I could take them home for free and she bagged them up and said good luck. I think the fish at that store are all exhausted because of the current being super, super strong. At the moment the moor is crashed out in the bottom of my ten gallon, and the other is still alive floating on the top. I hope they live but was in no position to bring home even one more fish!

Good for you for rescuing them, but you know you will need a tank bigger than a 10 gallon other wise their bodies will stop growing and their organs will continue to grow and they will die a very painful death.

Thank you for the reply, these goldfish are babies, I understand the water and filtration needs of these messy little beasties as they grow!
I am not set up to house any more goldfish at this time. I have ONE four year old female goldfish in a 29 gallon planted tank. The babies were plucked off from a filter intake in a pet store, and will probably not survive. I am just giving them a chance to rest! If they do make it, I will find them forever homes in tanks the correct size. ![]() I have them inside of a floating contraption made from a small net and a plastic cup floating in the ten gallon holding the fish, in hopes that they may pull through, if not, I will at least feel better that I tried. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for the response! Much appreciate the info |
