I have a 5" sarasa comet in my 55 gallon community tank. This is my first time owning one & he's been here about 4 weeks.
My issue/question is this.. what type of personality do they tend to have? This one is a bully/aggressive. He chases & nips at everything in the tank, including the pleco (who happens to be the same size as he). I've pretty much come to the conclusion that this one needs to go back to the LFS, but uncertain as to whether I should opt for a different species as replacement.

I'm not sure you have space for more fish in your tank.

Goldfish will try to eat anything they can fit into there mouths, this is probably what is happening. Another thing Goldies should not be kept with most tropicals, they have totally different needs.

you wouldnt think a goldfish would be a hassle, huh,i have 6 inch sarassa wow hes been a handful i rescued him from someone that stunted him he was in 5g tank when got him at his size now,3 yrs ago.fast moving fish, dirty fish eat poop swim im sure those zebras are fretting.i tried keeping him with mollies for a bit until i got him a new tank.at the present i have him in 60g indoor pond with a buddy.alot of stories for this fish.bottom line i agree no coldwater fish with tropicals and yes they are bullies just need to be with species--even fantail imo is at risk of bullying, even the pleco he just wants his space passive fish goldfish are bottom feeders carp pleco dont get no rest either
