Hi, I have an idea and want any opinions, whether it might work or be a disaster. I am wanting to make two goldfish places in my backyard, one is with an old bathtub and the other is a a big old culvert. It has a lot of character, if a culvert can
. I want to put it up on its end, cement the bottom, and create a goldfish world. I am thinking about drain, filter, anything that might make this successful, anything that might be a disaster. Any opinions would be welcome!! Ofcourse, any advice on the bathtub also. I am anxious to see what yall think!! Mary |

Hmmm...the culvert may have some major issues to consider, but I have seen bath tubs work pretty well. Is the culvert metal? If it is coated with zinc (as many culverts are), it will NOT be successful as a fish habitat. A zinc coating is sort of silver-gray. Sealing up the bottom might be a lot more work (and money) that it is worth.
What kind of tub is it? Porcelain, fiberglass? Photographs of both would be helpfull.... |
