This forum's description referenced gender identification, but I haven't found any posts on the topic.
The only information I've found elsewhere essentially came down to "females are fat when pregnant" which I could've surmised on my own. ![]() Any thoughts on how to tell if fantails are male or female? |

i dont really know about goldfish
but i got this from a website Although is it impossible to sex Goldfish when they are young and not in breeding season, the male is usually smaller and more slender that the female. In the breeding season the male has white prickles, called breeding tubercles, on its gill covers and head. Seen from above the female will have a fatter appearance if she is carrying eggs.

Oh! Thank you!
Mine are young, barely over an inch, and I have no idea when breeding season is... so I guess I'll stick with female names and whistle a happy tune. ![]() |
