Thumbs up Sweet Aquatics - Online Plant Vendor - July 2011 - 4.5/5 - ****

I promised a review on Sweet Aquatics, so here it is. It's been a little less than week since I planted their products.

This is the tank yesterday and today it even looks better.

I ordered from their website and not their auctions on Aquabid because I was making a pretty big order with multiple items.

I ordered,
  • 6x Contortion Vals
  • 3x Anubias Nana
  • 3x Java Fern
  • 4x Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green
  • 1x Amazon Sword (SM)
  • 2x Anacharis
  • 1x Dwarf Hairgrass

That was a total of $43.00, plus $9.40 for USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days) = $52.40

There is really nowhere that can beat this price, besides a very few users on Aquabid and some of the users on this forum.

I had a small problem when ordering the Anubias, the website only allowed me to get two of them, so I got a different Anubias, of the same price. I then contacted Sweet Aquatics and was attended by Mary, and she changed my order to what I wanted without a problem. I received what I wanted.

I suggest making a PayPal account when ordering with them from their website (as well as Aquabid if they use Paypal with that too) Mainly because Paypal is very buggy when you're not registered and I tried three times adding my credit card info. It only worked when I decided to register.

On their website it says it usually takes about a week for an order to process and then ship. When a week past I emailed them asking for a status update but I didn't get a response. Two days later I got an email from their website and Paypal saying my order was shipped, Paypal sent me the tracking ID.

I received my order in two days, mind you I live in Florida, and am pretty close to Alabama, where Sweet Aquatics is located.

The plants came in really good condition despite the heat wave. It was packaged with a thin Styrofoam and an icepack. Everything was nice and green. It was all labeled correctly. Although all of the same plants are packaged together, it may seem you're missing something but it's all there you just have to separate them.

So far my plants are doing very well and this is my first planted aquarium. I have to say, Sweet Aquatics made this very stress free and easy for me.

If they had a better paying system (ex. not Paypal) it would have been nicer. According to the website (one week until it ships) they were two days behind on my order, which really isn't a problem (this didn't affect the score) but what did affect the score was that I didn't get a response when I emailed them the second time. They should have responded, even if they knew it was going to be shipped in two days.

Overall: 4.5/5

I would recommend this seller, if you don't have a problem waiting a little bit and being a little left out until it ships.

I hope this was helpful and informative to you guys. Good luck.
