Grats on the job! Do us proud and prove that not all Petco/Petsmart employees are cross-eyed numpties.

LOL nah, I already put some ideas into the general managers head. Namely adding a per pount bin for Black beauty sand, which I found out Petco sell in little bags maybe 5LBS for 17$.

Coming from someone with experience working in a Petco, don't expect to be able to change much in regards to how the animals are kept. The management of Petco stores is required to set up their animal care based on the advice of the corporate vet, whom is not always right. To change how animals are being kept requires a large amount of red tape and hoops, and oftentimes you'll just simply be shot down.

Just prepare yourself for a bit of frustration.

Oh yeah, I was made aware of that. Best part is once I get my training done they are going to make me the Aquatic Specialist.

20% discount can't be beat though.

Dont expect a pay raise with the specalist title, I was reptile and aquatic specalist at the petco I worked at years and years ago and even though you are a "specalist" all it means is you are going to be working in every department picking up slack.

Sm is correct, do NOT expect any change with the way they are kept. Its been the same for over 20 years. Dont be shocked to find some red devils and midas' in the sumps they tend to put them there when they get mature.

Congrats! Im not allowed to work there anymore, gave the boss a black eye and a fractured cheek bone, teach him to make me put the big bags of canine grub up on the racks by myself.
Also, if you are near a cabela's their emp disc rate is 40% across the board.
