Good prices and even better when you compare shipping costs.;)

I bought several bags of Flourite gravel from them at slightly more per bag price than *cough* BigAls but when you go to check out and look at the shipping price, my cost almost doubled at Al's but was $9 at DrF&S. Buying more saves you more here...unless you are looking at live fish or frozen foods. Then you can find better prices elsewhere.

they are great everythig I have I ordered from them, they saved me like 200 dollars because the reef stores or LFS charge more for there supplies, they also have really good shipping and dont charge by weight, i ordered 60 lbs of sand and it cost normal shipping prices they also have a fish store liveaquaria i order fish from them, they are always cheap prices and great condition and looks.

I've ordered from Liveaquaria.com, which is a branch of DF&S, several times. I think I've only ordered directly from Drs Foster and Smiths once or twice. Either way, I've always had great experiences. Even when I've had not so great experiences, they refunded right away. I've never picked up pests from their fish or corals, it's always been awesome.

I've ordered from Fosters and Smith as well as liveaquaria and have been completely satisfied every time. They're a great and reliable supplier

I have purchased fish from LiveAquaria.com and from other places online that had the same fish for less money and found the cost of LiveAquaria much higher but also the quality of the fish much better. They are larger and have had a better survival rate (never lost one) and they have been healthy all the time. I got fish from other places that arrived and lived just long enough to be out of the Live Arrival guarantee and then died or were just not ever the really healthy fish I wanted. So while I can get upset at their policy of minimum orders when I only need a few fish and when I champ a bit at the high prices I remember they will be alive in a year or two or three and the others may not be or will have used the difference in the price up in medications and time spent caring for illness. DrsFosterSmith.com and LiveAquaria.com recently added the option of PayPal to their ordering and payment options also which makes more likely to use them for my main supplier in the future.

I do not however order my bettas from LiveAquaria.com

I buy a lot of dry goods from them including some lighting supplies although I normally use www.hellolights.com. They are usually pretty good and fairly reasonable and have good customer service. I have and will continue to buy fish from them if they have something unusual that I am wanting. I have done very good with them in the respect in the past. There have been times when they were the only source for a fish I wanted. Thier arrive alive policy if very good and they do stand behind that promise. As for corals there are many other places I would use first. I have herd some good reviews on thier Live Rock but havent persoanlly used them. There are other places out there that can often times beat their prices on rock.

There is only one on-line retailer I would not use under any circumstance and that would be Saltwater Fish: Aquarium Saltwater Fish and Tropical Fish for Home Saltwater Aquariums. I could write a book on all the reasons why not. YMMV...
