Hello Vera. I have a 10 G I use to sprout plant bulbs and I use an Aqua Clear 20. I think its extremely quiet and would more than do the job of filtering your tank water. This filter is very easy to take apart for cleaning and put back together and the filter media lasts quite a while. I just take the media out a couple of times a month and rinse it in some used tank water and put it all back in. As they say, "easy peasy, lemon squeezy"!

second that on the aquaclear but I would look at the aquaclear 30 because it has a bigger media chamber , and its adjustable so just turn down the flow . I run a AQ 70 on my 36 gallon on low flow and my tetras are no blown away with exessive flow
