Default Sturisoma (royal twig cats) Babies

I've been pretty busy the last couple of days with my fish. Been trying hard for a few months to get these to breed and now here is 4 day old eggs.

Thats awesome, congrats. I was never able to breed the Royal Farlowella.
How are you caring for them and how did you get them to spawn?

To get them to spawn it was advised to not do a water change for a couple of weeks and let the water get low. This is to simulate the dry season. Then do a water change to simulate the rainy season. Had eggs the next morning.

The care for the babies, it was advised to let the tank get kind of mucky. Don't clean the sides and don't vac the bottom. Also added some green water with rotifers and such in there. Slight water changes adding new water slowly.

They basically get the same diet as most plecos, algae tabs, zucchini, kale, also treats of frozen brine shrimp once in awhile.

They are related more to the plecos than cories. Cories are more fun to watch though.

They are sucker mouths, never had them bother plants. Pretty good for planted tanks.

It will be a good 4 or 5 months before they would be big enough to sell. If they survive.
