Question So, I think he's a Yoyo Loach

There is a very pretty 3" reticulated loach in the bottom of my tank. He rarely comes out from under the bubble stone during the day. My question is, I have a mystery snail and a gold snail. Do you think he will eat them? I also wonder if he will be compatible if I get some Otos?

TIA

If it is indeed a yoyo loach he would be fine with otos. I kept them both and they were fine.

If the snails are big enough he wont eat them also, but be advised that yoyo loaches are of the botia species, and small snails are natural food sources for them.

hope this helps!

What size of tank is he in. They come out more when they have company of their own kind. They are a very social fish.

it's about 30 gal. I'm not sure whether I have room enough for more fish.

He won't pay them any attention.

As for the Oto's, it's going to depend on your current stocking level as to whether or not you should get some.

there are 50+ guppies of all ages in the tank right now. I plan to thin the population as soon as I can figure out what to do with them. When I get my 55g I'm going to move the loach and hopefully get him a couple of friends.
