I started out with 3 Oto's about a month and a half ago and lost one after a week. Both love their zuchinni and algea waffers. The first few weeks they were still getting used to being fed and spent most of their time cleaning the aquarium. Now they are plenty active, but algea is starting up everywhere, they cleaned the tank to nothing in the first week.
The clown pleco hides, but he is always out when I first come into the room or am sitting at my desk very still. I never see him on the driftwood, but there is always pleco poo around it in the mornings. I have seen him eat an algea waffer, but never a zuchinni. Past couple weeks though the zuchinni is disappearing over night when I drop one in so I am assuming he figured out they are food. He also likes to push around the substrate and suck on the pebbles. I drop in the zuch every few days, usual two pieces at once. The Oto's are usually on it before I walk away. I add a algea waffer each night, and the cories seem to do the most damage to those, but the white clouds like the waffers also. I also drop in a few algea flakes each night; only seen the cories eat those. So that is the background, basically I am wondering if I am feeding the Algea Patrol Team too much and thus they are not doing the best cleaning job? I figure with everything always being gone within 8 hours I wasn't feeding them too much.

I keep a constant supply of zucchini in the tanks. Oh...and there is no algae. ;o)
They are always grazing on everything as well. |

Mine are always working on something too, mainly the plants, UGF lift tubes and thermometer. Maybe I just need a couple more for the tank? They are quickly becomming a close second to my cory cats for favorite fish.
