Sounds weird but when trying to acclimate some otos to my shrimp tank (because it has a serious diatomous algae issue that just won't quit) the otos rather quickly appear to keel over. When I poke them a bit they jolt to life but then start to float lifeless again. Over and over. I'm obviously moving them back to their home tank where they perk right back up.
What does this sound like? Never experienced it and while otos are picky I've never seen anything affect a fish this quickly before. The shrimp tank is tip top aside from the algae but will silicas or phosphates have this affect? Guess I need to bust out the ol alchemy kit, eh?

How are you acclimating them? If ph and everything is the same you should be able to just put them in there, if not I would do a drip acclimation to them.
