Default my pleco won't eat his wafers

I bought a small bag of wafers from Hikari first so i wasn't stuck with a big bag if he didn't eat them.I got them the same day as i got him.Which i got him wensday or tuesday. He hasn't eaten hardly any of it.He just sucked a dust sized portion of it and left it and never came back to it.So i siphoned that out.I tried to put very fine sliced cucumbers without the skin in to see if he would eat it.

Apparently he didn't because i found the two peices i gave him floating in the tank the next day.All he does is eat the stuff on the glass decor and heater ect algea. He won't eat anything else...what else can i give him that he might like? I only gave him the third of piece i had broken in half to see if he would eat.And he didn't eat any of it.(This was over a 2 day span) I tried feeding him the day i got him i fed him in the wee hours of the night like 8pm and tried feeding him the next day with the cucumbers around 4pm to see if he was hungry he didn't eat it at al...

what can i give him?i don't want him to eat only the stuff on the tank he won't get much or live that long if he doesn't get something else...help?

Just give him time. He probably never had any and he will eat all the algae first. Just keep putting one in every couple of nights and will eventually start eating it. Don't give to much cucumber as they are mostly water and not enough nutrients. Give zuchinni slices instead.

In my experience with new fish in the tank(not pleco though), it takes a couple of days before they start eating. So maybe your pleco is still trying to settle down and get used tot he new environment.
