I have a Julii Cory who has been extremely healthy since the day I got him. Earlier today I noticed that while he was sitting on the gravel he kept floating onto his side. He seemed to have to struggle to keep anchored down. Anyone seen this?
he also seems to be breathing heavy aswell

do a quick nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, and ph check. that could definately cause some bad stuff. post the results when you get them.

Hello,
Yes, about a month ago, I had exactly the same symptoms affecting one of my 5 corys. I eventually had to put it down when I found it one morning, being eaten alive by my big apple snail (horrible). The other 4 were and still are perfectly fine! I test my water regularly and never had any ammonia or nitrites, nitrates generally between 10 and 40... pH between 7.5 and 8. I guess I'll never know what went wrong. It's been so far the one and only casualty in my tank. |

Sounds like a swim bladder problem.

thanks guys,
He seems to be doing fine again. I did a water change right before I noticed his symptoms so im thinking he may have been overwhelmed by new water? who knows.
