What kind of catfish? Turn your lights off on the tank he is in for awhile. That will sometimes calm them down. The fin should heal as long as you keep your water clean.

That should narrow it down to around 150 species. - Frank

He seems to be doing well now just hanging in his cave. He will come out and make his lap around the tank every few minutes thanks to all.

They will be fine with clean water. I recently had one of my female corydoras try and swim into the 3/4" drain line, she got stuck and got tore up but recovered just fine. Catfish are strong but still need a quarantine period before they go into your display tank.

Frank, I think you are right.
