Re: Flathead Catfish

Well Ive yet to find anyone that kept the Flathead. A cool critter indeed! I thought I would share a few pics of my Flattie "Freakles" and his tank buddies.[IMG][/IMG]

Thumbs up Re: Flathead Catfish

In a 5000 gal tank right ? LOL...
Been trying to find them for a while and finally have caught a couple of adults simply meaning there are babies there !!!
Your "native" tank looks great. That one is a type locally call "appalusas" but
don't go by my spelling though. I get schools of babies (other types until now)
in spring and raise them from about .25" till the few I keep reach about
3". Since I've found the adults I now can search for the babies this spring.
I know the size is related to how much they eat...but keep in mind that
the Arkansaw record "Flathead", recorded officially but not in "The record book"
because it was snagged...weighed 139.2 Lbs.
