Alright, I recently bought an L015 from the LFS, I know plecos are nocturnal, is there a way to dim the lights or something in my tank so he comes out more? He hides in the same spot all day every day. I would like to see my expensive fish once in a while lol

You could just use a smaller light. I use full spectrum CFL bulbs over most of my tanks; getting a 13w one would probably do the trick, but I wouldn't get your hopes up that he's going to start coming out during the daytime, since they're fairly shy fish. Also keep in mind that Pecko's are omnivorous, with a lean towards meaty foods, so make sure you feed him accordingly.

I have four Plecos in several tanks. The only one that likes to hide is a 16 incher in a 55G tank. He only hides when I'm making noise around his tank. Pleco tanks need bright lights on so they can grow the Algae the Pleos need to feed on. If you want to see him more, place Algae waffers away from his hiding place. My plecos also like dry seaweed strips. I move them around my tanks with the magnetic Algae scarpers.

If you want to see your nocturnal fishies more, get an actinic light and run at night when the normal lights go out.
