Default Corys and Fluorite

Is Fluorite considered too sharp for cory barbels? I'd like to get some C. Habrosus for my 10 gal. and I'm still trying to find the sand I want.

Default Re: Corys and Fluorite

Hasbrosus doesn't root in the substrate as much as most cories. but flourite can be sharp for them. You can put sand on top of the flourite but will mix before to long. If you are wanting the substrate for plants I would put peat in first then top off with sand. Will work just as well.
