Today I was at my LFS and I was looking for plants to buy, unfortunately there wasnt any for me. But I did see what I think was an Emerald Cory, there was no name tag or price on the tank. The Cory was about 4 inches long and 1.5 inches tall (not including dorsal fin). I have 2 albino cories and they are about 2 inches long. I thought this was about max size for cories, but I dont know for sure. Can cories get 4-5 inches or more? Or was this some sort of giant Cory?

Hello GuppyNGold...
I've had Corydoras for several years and have never seen or previously heard of a Cory the size you describe. I have several different kinds and about 3 to 3.5 inches is the longest I have. Mine tend to get a little wider instead of longer. B

My local petsmart had some of those mega cory's. I think they were called emerald green cory's.
I also read somewhere that they are not a true cory.

I went back to the LFS today and grabbed the Cory, surprisingly the total came to $1.60!! Score! Also I measured him, and he is 3 inches long, he looked a lot bigger at the store, but he is still big.
