Default Bleeding..

Anyone know what would cause L-66's to bleed through their gills and eventually expire? Five were picked up for me from the local wholesaler and were in the LFS tank for 4 days. The temp of the tank was -86F becuase they were in with German Rams, and the Rams seem to thrive at the temp. All but one of the L-66's died from what looks of bleeding through their gills. Though the Rams were just dandy.

TTA and I discussed it for a length of time in the chatroom and it seemed like the only conclusion that he could come to was they were drugged for shipping and the drugs effected them adversely.

Default Re: Bleeding..

Could be tissue damage caused by ammonia. At that high of a temperature, ammonia is more concentrated and harmful.
