Default What are some good plants?

For bettas, what are some recommendations for live plants? I heard plastic plants cut the fish's fins. There is a suction cup fake leaf for bettas but they always fall off. The betta tank is bare bottom. Are there any good type of aquarium plant that float near the surface so the fish can sit on it, or do I need to put in sand to root something?

I'd put in gravel, but actually java ferns do very well if they're tied to a decoration. They're easy to maintain, grow really well, look great, and don't need any special lighting other than a standard flourescent bulb.

Java ferns and anubias can work well for barebottomed tanks. As for leaves the fish lay on,mine love to lay in my ozelot sword and swim through the rotala walichii.Dwarf lilies have geat leaves that reach for the surface, and my bettas have been known to sleep on them as well.

Hm I had no clue the leaves fell out of the suction cups,Ive heard many people really liked it,and so did their fish.

You can add sand and that will give you more options on what plants,or you can take a terra cotta pot,and plant the plants in them and leave the bottom bare.
