Need help identifying species (Apistogramma)
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one. I picked up this fish (Apistogramma Borellii) at my LFS. Now, after stumbling on to some more info I'm wondering if it might actually be (Apistogramma sp "steel blue"). I would greatly appreciate any help on this one. Thanks everybody.

Thanks. I got him from a LFS that is pretty reliable. I'm just wondering if he was mis-identified from the start.

I have no idea. But this name sounds familiar as it was in news recently, this was a new fish (i do not know whether the picture is of the same fish) discovered in Amazon river and given a name

Yeah, that's kinda what I was reading. I was just wondering if anyone has knowledge of this Apistogramma Species. It seems that it definetly has Borelli in it. . Still welcome any new opinions. Thanks everyone.

There has been a lot of discussion on the steel blues as its not known yet as to whether it is a hybrid or not. There are a few people in our club that keeps them and breeds them, but its up in the air at the moment if they can be bapped by the breeder till they figure out if it will be classified as a separate species or not.
