Default Good Low light JD plants?

I want to put something that requires low light in the tank with my Jack Dempsey. I have some java moss in there, but would like something i could float in there. I have heard if i try planting anything in the sand he will more than likely dig it up. So i was thinking of a floating plant. I have heard of frogbit and water sprite. either of these good choices to float with him?
