Default firemouth cichlids constantly hiding

I recently set up a 72g tank and have 3 firemouth cichlids and a pleco in it there is hiding spots in the tank for them if they want to hide but since I put them in a few days ago i rarely see them so im wondering if this is normal or not.

I would wait it out a few more days before i begin to worry....may be them just adjusting to the tank before they are comfortable enough to swim around

I agree. They could just be claiming their territory, and laying low while they are still a bit timid. They can be shy when first added into a new tank, like any fish.
