Default Convicts taking over

I live in Orlando near the airport, I was wondering if anyone knows of a pet shop that would trade my convicts for store credit? Or if anyone here is close by they are yours if you want them. I am in zip 32812 and have around 40 and im afraid they are at it again and possibly the young as well.

Thx for looking

I doubt that you can find a lfs that would take them, unless they are small enough to sell as feeders. Convicts are worse than rabbits when it comes to breeding and a very cheap fish to get around my area, people can't give them away unless someone has big enough fish to feed them to.

Sorry to hear that

On topic: I'm not sure if you've tried this approach, dirtydutch4x, but I've found that if you are planning to buy fish from the store, they will give you some credit, they also don't seem to like the babies. I called up a few stores and found one in my town that gave me $1 per convict (2 adult, 1 baby) store credit, when I told them I was intending to buy some fish..This was the store I originally bought them at, and made sure to tell the owner I have taken great care of them and they look better than when they sold them to me. its basically just a small discount towards another expense for you But who knows, if you end up wanting some new life in the next month..let the babies grow out a tiny and call around asking for a discount/store credit towards a purchase you will be making that same day.
Basically, try telling them: "I want to buy a few _(fish)_s of yours at $15 each, but I need to get rid of 40x baby Convicts, can you give me a credit towards this purchase if I come up today?"
The key is to market them - Noting that your fish are on a healthier diet, etc.
If this statement is true, you should also say: "These fish are not inbred nor have had any genetic mutations. They have always been healthy and produced healthy offspring."

If they are not overstocked, they can sell the fish for profit, and sell you other fish...for discounted profit (they win x2), and you win x1 (got rid of fish, got new fish for discount). This is also a great way to start a good "relationship" with a store. I'm going to attempt to do what you are trying to do with some huge sail-fin mollies that just birthed that I bought from a LFS south of here (side note: I also gave the manager there a pair of wild caught Golden Topminnows and I ended up with some plants that are normally...well can't sell/trade/buy them in the state *cough).

Funny Story (mostly unrelated):
I bought a Red Devil from Petsmart for around $5 and got $8 store credit at "LFS 1" a few weeks later. Also, the store I sold my convicts to, "LFS 2" was selling Red Devils for $7...so I could have bought all the Red Devils from Petsmart or "LFS 2" and sold them over to "LFS 1" for $1-3 profit in store credits!!! I might have gotten a free fish on credit, but lost the initial cash into credit. Say $5x10 fish = $50 initial cash turns into $80 store credit! Probably would not work with a 10 fish trade in though.

Best of luck, sorry I can't suggest a store!
