Default convict fry and cleaning

So I have a pair that are raising some fry ( who have just started swimming) and I have done the water change gently. But I need to do some heavier cleaning of the sand etc. What can I do with very aggressive momma and daddy and not disturb the fry too much? Also in my 10 gal I just got a new hood and it says not to use a bubbler. Is that because of splash on the bulbs? I think there needs to be some flow. the internal filter is not makeing any splash at all. What can I do? And will she be ok alone in that tank?

Don't do any heavy cleaning right now. It will upset the parents and remove organisms the fry feeds on. Make a big cleaning when the parents begin ignoring and chaseing away their fry.

What are you going to do with the fry? They are VERY good parents and so the fry survival rate is really good with convicts. I personally would clean the areas that they are not hiding in. That is what I personally do but it may not be what the "correct" way is. I would still get an airstone going in your tank. The more more oxygen exchange the better.
