I am about to start cycling another 55gal tank i just picked up. I am currently building the stand for it now, so i have some time to research some different fish for it and different setups. what cichlids will enjoy a 55gal tank. I want a pair of Jack Demseys, but im not sure if 55gal is big enough for a pair. I am open to suggestions. thanks

I moved to a different county back in May 2011 and started high school in a totally different school district. So I'm still adjusting and studying hard, and don't presently have any aquariums. But once I do, I'll be right back on this forum! |

i was under the impression that the males get quite large and a pair is more suitable for a 75gal.

ok thanks. I have a nice Jack dempsey i just picked up that is going to go in there. He is currently in another 55gal waiting for his own tank. Actually i think its a female, but its about 6.5" so far. Beautiful fish. Got it a 5" 4 striped Pictus catfish to clean up its mess.

If you ever do decide to get salvini, get wild caught ones. the non-native ones here in south florida are absolutely gorgeous!
