Default advice on bolivian rams?

so i'm getting a great deal on an eheim 2215 canister filter soon so i'm gonna have my current HOB filter left over with nothing to do soon. so i'm planning on (pending parental approval - the joys of being 16) setting up a 20g long for a pair of bolivian rams ($6 at my LFS - awesome!). anyone here have experience with these guys? what other fish would go well in a 20g with them? what kind of hardscapes do they like? any other info on these fish is much appreciated. thanks guys!

Default Re: advice on bolivian rams?

Rams need clean water and high quality food. They also need lots of hidding places (rocks and plants). They get along fine with Rainbows and Congo Tetras. They tend to stay at the lower 1/3 of their tank and don't feed on surface. They aren't very agressive so they won't get along well with mean Cichlids.
