Hello, am not a fish expert but we got a tank w/ 1 flowerhorn in it, I think that the fish is a female, cause it has laid eggs 2x already, but we now face a problem as her tube has sort of come out and turned all red.
Our pet has been with us for a year now and we treasure her and would not want her to get sick and eventually lose her, so please if you have any advice, let me know. Thanks. |

I had a friend whom had a similar problem with his flowerhorn, apparently it could've been caused due to intestinal parasitical worms or something it picked up from what you are feeding it. Have you tried de-worming the fish? Some people have had success with that. I would wait for someone with more experience to chime in as the first thing I do with new fish is acclimatize them, deworm them and feed them high quality foods, as far as cichlids go, you can make your own frozen food with added liquid vitamins and such to boost their health. Hope your fish pulls through! Good luck! P.S It's also a cause of overfeeding your fish...
