just bought crab not moving

i just bought a red claw crab, its not moving at all, its at 26 c i just put a algae tablet in and its standing on it not eating it. is it moulting? it is still in the bag because the water it quite green :S im waiting for a new filter, will it be ok in this water? shall i put somewhere for it to hide in the bag?

You need to take it out of the bag, and put into the tank. He will not survive that long staying in the bag. Also, they don't eat algae tabs, they need things like frozen blood worms, shrimp pellets or even small feeder fish.

ok thank you again susankat ;) i have some frozen blood worm in the freezer ready for when he goes in the tank, tbh i was just seeing if he would eat

Why did you buy livestock when you're having water and filtration issues?

that was my first thought as well..

also i hope you know that your crab needs some place to get up out of the water to dry off and what not.
