Default Brackish water cloudy

My Fiddler Crabs brackish water is really cloudy, I mean you can barely see anything. The only thing that's in that water is sand, saltwater, and the aquarium purifier for tap water. What can be causing the cloudy water? Can it be I added too much salt? I use sand in my turtle tank and the water isn't cloudy at all. I have 3 Fiddler Crabs
