I would not recommend mixing glass and acrylic. First of all silicone and acrylic do not play well together. Silicone has a tendency to not want to stay bonded to acrylic. Just imagine if you are building a 100 gallon tank and silicone acrylic to the bottom of the tank. That is roughly 810 pounds of pressure on the bottom seal(water is 8.1 pounds per gallon) that will probably fail to hold anyway. Also, acrylic requires total support, meaning you have to support the entire bottom of the tank and not just the edges. I would suggest going all acrylic or all glass.
