Default water problems!!!

i have a 90 gallon discus tank and i normally do water changes daily. But my problem is my well pump went out and its going to be a while until i can get a new one. So i need to know is bottled spring water ok to use for doing water changes? or what else can i do or use to do a much needed water change?

Hi, I have used bottled spring water for my 5 gallon betta tank with good results. You can always test the water before putting it in your tank. Don't use distilled water, it is not good for aquarium fish. I would also be Leary of bottled water labeled "purified." I am puzzled why you need daily water changes. Is your filter not performing or tank over populated?

Depending on the water source discus owners commonly do daily WC because Discus are so ridiculously sensitive.

In this situation if you are unable to get a filter in a reasonable amount of time I would suggest taking your bio media and place it on top of a bubble wand or the like in your tank with an air pump going full force to help circulate the water through the bio media, or have a power head pointed at the media bag in the tank. hopefully that will suffice.

Depends on what kind of ph you want to maintain. Well water and Bottled Spring water usually have a high ph, while Distilled and RO water usually have a low ph once well aeriated. A high ph is also usually associated with high mineral content. The normal water for Discus is low ph, low mineral content, low nitrates and low KH

If you have an lfs near by that maintains salt water tanks you can buy ro/di water from them. Just have your own containers and its cheaper that way.
