Default Fish problems

I cleaned my fish tank tonight, cleaned out the rock and everything. before i put my fish back in the tank i checked the water temp. it was at 70 degrees. my fish were all hudled at the top of the tank. then they started floating upside down. and had started to die. So i put them in some other room temp water, thinking this might help. they are still continuing to die. What have i done??

If these fish are discus, they need water temp of about 80 to 82 degrees, They are probably in shock from the cold water.

Susan is right. You need to warm up the water before adding it.
Don't mess around with a sensitive fish like discus.

Also check the Ph level and hardness and add some sodium thiosulfate if you use chlorinated water. Also check for these parameters after 12 hours.

You can read some info about discus water needs here.

Yeah, some more info please:
details of the cleaning you did
how long the tank has been set up
types of fish
size of tank
that should be good to start with.
