you want to get real driftwood and live plants in there, more wood then plants for a true discus environment. In that 80g id say 6 would be the limit on the amount of discus.(im sure you already know this though, but good info for ones interested in them as pets)

As far as the rams go, good luck, Ive never been able to keep mixed lots of rams without tons of murder going on. Balloon rams are in my opinion flat out ugly and are not welcome in my tank along with parrots.
If I were you id stick to one species of ram in there as you might be able to get away with 2-3 pairs in that tank and thats it. they are very violent little suckers when they are establishing their territory.( I had a dozen rams in a 210 and not a single one is left alive, it was a bloody mess. again you know but its just m experience which is odd because I got 3 pairs in a 55 with no problems)

good luck though, those fish do look darn good, and I do forsee me ordering some green's once winter is over here(dont want to jeopardize as it gets freaking cold in Chicago)

what water do you have?
my temp is around 85 degrees and all my plants do exceptionally well, from fragile ones to weed like plants.

I got a 210 discus tank at home.

same exact as mine, they do really well in the mid 6 ph range, I have a 52g that is 5.8ph and they seem to hide more in that tank then they do in the 210.

I let the stunted ones we recieve live out their days in the 52g as its smaller and they are the 2nd largest fish in there rather then having to fight with 18+ adult discus for foods.
