Default zeolite and carbon combination

hello

I have just bought an external jbl crystalprofi1500 canister filter. I want to insert both carbon and zeolite as filter media, but have read various properties of both. for example zeolite is said to lower hardness, others say it maintains ph 7-7.5, it can be regenerated, etc.

i would greatly appreciate the help from you guys in ACTUALLY knowing their properties and effectiveness in aquariums. i have also inserted an external UV in the filter system.

Any suggestions on good filters with integrated uv systems?

thanks to all in advance

Unusual location for this....

Zeolites are just supposed to eliminate/reduce ammonia and some even come in a liquid form. Since you mention regeneration, you must be referring to a product called purigen. Never heard claims of lowering hardness and I know it doesn't maintain a particular ph.
