they're probably still a little freaked out from the transition

they're use to WIDE open spaces in a lake

do they have plenty of cover, like plants and/or wood?

they'll probably be like that for 3 or 4 days

have any pics? I've always though it would be cool to catch a few local Florida fish and set up a tank

ah okay

on if they're that small, try smaller food; probably floating foods, not something like minnows that they have to chase around

heck, maybe even some earth worms tossed in, since they can't really get away; pick up a small carton at any fishing store that sells live bait. rinse them off and toss them in and see what happens

well to post pictures, I think you have to have at lest 5 posts on the forum, so you're almost there!

hmm... that's strange

what about floating food, like your average flakes?

granted, they're not tropical fish, so feeding them such food permanently probably isn't a solid healthy diet for them, but it may be just the thing to get their appetites back

now that you've got 5+ posts, you can use Photobucket photos

just upload it (try and keep the pics 1024x768 or lower), copy the [ IMG ] link that Photobucket provides after uploading, and past that link in your post

EDIT: never mind; looks like you got that picture thing down

tank setup looks good!

Large Mouth Bass behave much like Oscars, except they get much bigger. Sunfish are just a smaller version (with smaller mouths). A common food for Bass in the wild is young Sunfish. Bass have large mouths and will eat anything that can fit in it. This includes Mice, Frogs and Crayfish. Two good foods for your Sunfish is Crickets or Earthworms. These are common foods for them in the wild. Bass also lke large Nightcrawlers Temp < 80.
Good Luck!

when they grow you won't be able to have more than one or two of those fish in your tank.

Seannjif, I am not sure if you know this but to catch a bass,4 inches, and keep it is illegal in texas, the bluegill are fine though, unless you have permission from your local game warden you cannot keep a bass under 15 inches, sorry to burst your bubble

I have a few blue gill and it took about 3-4 days and they will now eat pellets when I feed. just be patient, does it hurt anyone to keep them in the tank? I understand all of the fine citizens dont want to break the law but I dont think anyone will lose their life due to fish keeping, and what are the odds of a game warden knocking on his door to check his tanks?

I wouldn't break a law and then leave posted incriminating evidence online either. ;)

Dirtyduch, i dont think you understand what I was trying to say, you live in florida, where the bass get huge, and it is no big deal to you, but in tx bass dont get very big. And to encourage poaching, i am ashamed of you, I thought you were a good person, By the way it says on texas parks and wildlife it says the fines fo fish poaching, for every inch of fish under or above the limit 200 to 500 dollars i am sure sean doesnt want to pay that much money to keep a bass. btw thi is not a flamer comment, i was just informing you of the rules that both my friends dad, and the internet told me
