That looks like manzanita wood. There are a few sellers of it. Try googleing it might find a seller. Depending on where you live you might be able to find some locally. If you find some locally growing don't cut any live ones as they are a protected tree but can collect any thats dead.

If you are in chandler, you can find this stuff out in the deserts around you, When I was living in san diego I used to hit the NW corner of AZ for petrified wood and head into any desert in any direction around there to get manzanita.
this is a manzanita tree and native from washington down the coast and thru new mexico. Im sure youve seen many of these in the SW. |

I don't venture out into the wild desert much. Maybe it is time to take out that mountain bike I never use. What are my chances of finding a dead one?
Edit : I just realised this thread may be in the wrong section. Should I have put it in the plants section? Although, it isn't really alive. Is "decor" equipment? Last edited by Ken_B : 04-12-2011 at 07:21 PM. |
