I got one, its in use and will be for years, but great choice man, you will not be disappointed, there are some tricks you will learn while servicing it to make the process go quicker for you.
Word of advice, fill that canister ALL the way up with water before you turn it back on after its been cleaned and when its new. Priming on it sucks, I cannot get 1 inlet to prime no matter what, I yank the hose and siphon start it to get it flowing again. Its a HEAVY one when its full too, the casters are nice however you gotta tilt it to get it to roll right when its at full capacity. Mines on a 210 and even going thru a big blue and a reactor it pumps hard, kicks my gravel around a bit and the spray bar is 24" away from the substrate. |

Does help to learn the little tricks to make it work for you. I've had to open up the top of the hose by that little cap and pour water in that way. That's tricky if you don't have a funnel that fits. I now just free-hand pour water in it if I need to. I only change my filter about every 6 weeks now. I was changing it at 4, but it just wasn't that dirty. Actually, porcrastination got it to 6 and it worked out.

Yeah, filling thru the caps never worked for me, still had a big air bubble, as the hose would fill up it would trickle into the filter and never produce the pressure to create the suction.
Thats why I yank the hose ends off at the bulkhead on the eheim itself. I think my gravel is breaking down, every 4 weeks mine is filthy. |
