Yeah the 30 has been up and runing for a while. The 37 has been up for around 2-3 months and needs the glass cleaned, but the tannins from the drift wood is almost gone. So it will start looking better soon.

Unfortunately the wife is not happy with this hobby, so still not sure if it's going away just yet.

Might be time to go one larger tank that takes less to operate and maintain. Im downsizing now as well, but am setting up a 10 tank breeder operation. Good Luck mate.
Also if it gets down to it, atleast it aint a habit that includes booze and dope. My wife sings the same tune as your's does, I just turn the radio in my head on full blast when she starts her nagging.

Compromise but never be defeated. Its hard, its long but in time she will come around, just stay on top of her never-ended list of things to do. Its all about keeping her happy so you can be happy. Sucks but thats the life. Better or worse, right?

Ive gone from 10 display tanks down to 2, this allowed me to get the 10 tanks for breeding my discus and wild angels. Its been a fight since 2007 here, more like a war at times but if she didnt have that betta in a bowl when I met her I might have never came back to the hobby.

Sounds like you need compromise. My husband and I have been married for going on 11 years. We have had some bad times, and some has been about the fish tanks.Mainly because it is an obsession for me.But we have discovered,as long as he helps me control that urge to spend every dime on fish, things are much better in the house.I have three display tanks,a three gallon,a 25 gallon and a 29 gallon. This was shaved down from two 55,a 46bowfront,a 25 tall,20 long, several tens, several fives, three three gallons, two 2.5 gallons and five one gallons.

Of course the main reason I dont have them all anymore is because i didnt have room in the moving truck, lol. His hobby is computers and movies. So we dont go bat crazy on either now and we like each other much more.

Wow Majerah, yeah I would be on the sidewalk with my fish if I had that many right now. But yes I need to start having a litle self control with my fish obsession.

Holly Cr*p, my wife would have killed me. She has a hard enough time with my 55gallon, she has promised once we get a bit better, money wise, I can set up another tank....so I am looking for a 30long to go under my 55.

This is cracking me up. I wonder why there hasn't been an episode on Animal Hoarders where the people was keeping to many fish in their house.

In my defense,I found most of them at the side of the road during spring clean up week, and others at thrift shops. My only brand new tank is the one my dad bought me for Christmas this year, lol.

My wife will go find me a tank, call me, ask my permission to buy it, bring it home, let me get it up and running THEN complain about it and the time I spend on it, mind you she manages two sportclips and is gone about 60 hours a week.

I married my polar opposite, I need a hug....

Its all about balance. Maybe if you agree to keep your favorite and get rid of the others.

It's good to have some one to keep you in check though. My husband will happily spend every dime on fish and fish stuff for me. Sounds great I know but it has it's downside, besides getting expensive, at one point I had more tanks than I could really cope with, or had space for (we live in an apartment). I have had to learn a great amount of willpower to keep myself in check. Maybe one day we'll live in a house with a fish room...

I'm waiting for the day my stepdaughter moves out so I can turn her room into a fish room. That is if my wife doesn't insist we have a baby. I told her a couple times we have enough kids, 16yr old daughter, 5yr old ferret, 2 ferrets less than 1 yr, 3 fish tanks and an aquatic turtle. Haw many more kids does she need exactly anyway?

BUWAHAHAHAHA, she wants "us" to have one. And yeah I'll admit I'd like to have one as well, but exactly keeping a pet is way less costly than a baby/child. Ok maybe not a rewarding in the long rung just cheaper.

Mine are young, I am young, I just turned 30 in sept, I got more grey hair then my dad does anymore and he is staring 55 dead in the face. Kids are a challenge, it should be an olympic sport. They are protected by law to run wild.
