Hi All,
After a long saga, I've given up on fish and am sticking to houseplants and my cat...I'd like to get rid of this glass bowl, which I believe is a 2 gallon, and some fluorite which I bought and painstakingly rinsed a year ago. It was never in a diseased tank, no worries. For your trouble of picking these items up in Ridgewood Queens, and $5, voila. |

Sorry to hear you are giving up on fish. If it was the 2 gallon bowl that you were keeping fish in, such a small tank is hard to maintain and not suitable for most fish although it might work for some things. If you ever have a go again you might want to try a larger tank.

Agreed a 2 gallon bowl is a bit small.
If you decide to try again one day,the people of this forum will be glad to help you the whole way, with any questions and advice you may need.

Thanks both - I had one betta in a ten gal tank, but already got rid of that. All I can say is I tried my best and I loved my little fish - think I lost him to a nitrogen spike while struggling with tank cycling. It was too much guilt and I was spending too much money on test kits, live plants, the fluorite, etc. But fishtanks are lovely little ecosystems and kudos to all of you who do it so well and support each other. |
