Default WTB: Low Light Low Maintenance Plants

Looking for some low light low maintenance plants (Amazon Sword, Java Fern, Anubias...)

Petsmart has Amazon sword and Anubias but it's so expensive I could only get a couple plants. Looking for a better deal on here and I'd rather support members than PS or Pco. thanks

Hello chad...

I keep low light plants in my low tech tanks. I have a couple of different Amazon swords, Java fern, Anubias, Pennywort, Singapore moss, Water lily, some different kinds of Cryptocoryne, Water wisteria, Peace lily and Banana plants. I may have a few more, but I can't recall the names.

Anyway, there are more than enough low light plants to fill a pretty large tank. All you need is a single bulb, 6500 K, T8 for the taller tanks and a T12 for the wider ones.

Hello ia...

No, not selling. Just giving you an idea of what to look for and ask for. I have large, Livebearer tanks and I don't trim the plants, I just let them grow like they would in nature. My tanks are pretty simple. The plants provide oxygen for the fish and the fish fertilize the plants. I have about 1,200 fish that make plenty of food for the plants.

I also replace half the water in the tanks every week. Don't need to do much else. I'm just the "waterkeeper" the fish and the plants are pretty self sufficient.

Hunt around on this forum. There are lots of offers to sell plants. Just start a new thread. You'll have several offers in no time.
