Default Summer heat in shipping Anacharis (Egeria densa

has anyone tried Anacharis (Egeria densa) plants? I was thinking of getting some shipped to me. From Aquarium plants.com. Will summer time heat hurt plants in shipment?

I dont know about shipping them, but I cant grow Anacharis in any of my tanks. With sunlight throughout the day it dies, with a 60 watt light bulb on 10 hours a day it dies, and I use liquid plant fert. So far Anacharis is the only plant I can't seem to grow in my tanks, I dont know why. Possibly because all my water is hard, thats the only thing I can think of.

I have a Water Wisteria that grows like crazy! As long as you have a light or you tank is near a window that has a lot of natural light, it will grow like crazy!! Mine has new buds on it all the time. You can just snap them or cut them off and plant them somewhere else in the tank. I got mine for like $4 at my LFS. Ohhhh, I forgot to add that Water Wisteria is sometimes also known as Water Sprite.

Won't too much light cause algae?

Ive only had a very very little bit of algae grow on my glass lid right where the water splashes up from the filter, thats it. I dont know if the guppies or corys eat any algae before I see it, but I dont have any. You can probably get away with 5-7 hours a day with the light on if your tank starts growing algae, or you can get a couple Otos haha.

too much light will indeed cause algae, but if you balance the lighting period with ferts and the amount of plants,it works out where the plants get the nutrients and algae does not.
