Exclamation Looking for new homes

Hi,
I have to move away from UK
I need to find new homes for my 6 Golden Mountain Minnows. I bought them only 2 month ago. I don't need money. Only what I need is new good homes for them. I am living in Wisbech (Cambridgeshire), there is no problem to take my darlings to their new homes- we can deliver them. I would like to keep in touch with new owners. It isn't easy to give them away, but I can't take them with me- so many hours in a car would kill them. And I don't want to take them back to shop
If you can give them new good homes, please contact me.

Thanks,
Anna

Just curious, how far are you moving?I moved a box full of fish, including one week old fry last winter,1200 miles, over the course of four days.It can be done.Just bag em up as if you were shipping them, place in a styrofoam lined box with a heat pack(a hothands will also work)and keep an eye on em.

Hmmmm, that sounds fantastic. please can you give advices how I can take them with me. I have been told, that max time out of fish tank is 2 hours. We will need to drive about 40 hours. Is it allowed to cross border with fishes?

You can contact customs and ask if its possible to cross with them.I am emailing someone,to find out,but you may need some breather bags.

This is the response i got from a seller of the bags:
I could not find any info concerning a problem with lack of aerated water for these fish. (Golden White Cloud Mountain Minnows).

Golden Mountain minnows - Google Search

I also could not find any info on the problem in my library. They have to get transported at some point in their life so I'm guessing you may have received some bogus information. You can experiment with them in a Kordon bag and see how well they do. Check on them every few hours and see if they are exhibiting and signs of stress. Thanks for your inquiry.

Kardon bags? first time hear about them.
Do you think I need to experiment before the long journey, to see how they react in new conditions?

BIG thanks for your help!!!!

Yes like the guy said above, you can bag one up and see how he does over the course of a few hours.

Heres the seller i asked about the bags, and its a great price on them, with free shipping.
AquaBid.com - Your Aquatic Auction Website

I believe if you bag them in a regular bag from the fish store, add half water half air, they should be fine.Adding air is easy and you may need to practice to get it right, but take an air pump with airline, place the line in the bag and twist the top enough so you are able to fill it with air.You want it to have enough but not too much.Too much can cause leaking. After you get the air in,tie the top, gently flip the bag upside down, and place in a second bag.Tie this one too. This will form a sort of bubble where theres no corners for the fish to get stuck in.Then just place in a styrofoam lined box,or cooler, padded with newspaper between fishes. They should be fine either way, just keep an eye on them.

Oh one more thing. Before your move,do not feed them for two or three days. This way they will not soil the bags. Many fish die in bags from ammonia because they were not fasted a few days before hand.

I wanted to say that all my six Golden Moutntain Minnows are safely home =] We had 48 hour drive. Cordon bags are brilliant!!! I didn't expect to have them all alive. My hands were shaking when I packed them out one by one. I put one fish in one bag. Thanks for info!!!! Result is brilliant!!!!
