I have a 15 inch long, spiny eel (which was called a black leopard eel at the store when I got it), which is getting too big for her tank. I have had her for several years and would like to find her a new home with someone who knows a lot about eels already, and who has a big enough tank for her. She had been pretty aggressive with the Angel fish that been in the tank with her three years ago, but seems to do alright with the medium Pelco that’s been with her for the last three years as long as she’s always really well fed. They could either go as a set, or just the eel. If she is wanted alone I would have to ensure that she is either going to a tank on her own, or one with only a Pelco or other similarly calm fish that she both can’t attack or that wont attack her. She eats only frozen brine shrimp, and other frozen food, and who ever would want her needs to be someone who does not feed live food because of the diseases that it can cause in the fish.
I care very much for the eel so I’m being very particular about whom I re-home her with. There is no tank that goes with her, because of the fact that it’s to small as it is, however I would be more then willing bag up the water and gravel to be transported over to her new home, as well as help with the transport. For pictures, or questions about her feel free to e-mail me at Lnthebackrow@aol.com with something about the eel in the subject line. Or you can text / call me and please leave a voice mail if I don't answer at four one four three two six eight zero nine nine. - Jacob |

Oh!!!!! I wish I could take her off your hand but I'm in Canada and I don't think she would withstand the shipping. I had one not long and and really liked him. He ended up dying on me because he got scratched on a decoration. Now I'm in the process changing the substrate and the remaining decorations to somethings more suitable for their burrowing. None of the fish in my tank bothered my Eel or vice versa.I have a big 55gal community tank sparely populated.

Yeah, that's to bad, I really would like her to go to someone that knows something about them already and knows what they're getting into. But shipping would make me far to worried, it was bad enough having to drive her once when I moved. Thanks though. And I'm sorry for your eel, I don't think many people know how it can be just as bad to lose a fish as other kinds of pets. Jacob |
